Travel volunteer

Flying out of Puerto Rico? Take a rescue with you.

Many of our dogs have a home or a partner rescue waiting for them in the States. All they're missing is someone on the same flight. You travel; we handle everything else.

How it works

Five steps, almost all on us

  1. 1
As early as you can — ideally 2+ weeks ahead

    You send us your itinerary

Date, airline, flight number and destination. That lets us find a rescue that can meet the animal where you land.

  2. 2
    Within a few days

    We match you

We match a small dog or cat who's ready to travel and has someone waiting in your city.

  3. 3
    Before the trip

    We handle the prep

The airline pet fee, the carrier, the health certificate and the paperwork. It costs you nothing.

  4. 4
    Travel day

We meet you at the airport

A volunteer hands you the animal in its carrier. It rides with you in the cabin, under the seat, as your carry-on.

  5. 5
    When you land

    Someone picks them up

The receiving rescue meets you at the airport. That's it — you just changed an animal's life.
